The "Spirit-Led" Story
"There's more out there..."
Spirit-Led Expeditions, Inc. began in the late 1990s as Crossfire Ministries.
It began with two members- Scottie Schultz and Eric Lovin. Scottie and Eric had
a passion for drama outreach and evangelism and began to use those skills to
reach out to others and train others in drama outreach.
As time progressed, Eric began to take part in mission outreach trips with
Emmanuel College to the South American country of Peru. His first trip to Peru
was in May of 2003. While there, Eric fell in love with the country and it's people,
and God began to develop a longing inside him to go back to this place and
continue ministering. It was on this trip that Eric met Stephanie Phillips and Mat
Sides and developed a friendship with them. On the next trip, he would meet
Alex Ward, and all three would join Eric and Scottie in ministry.
Mat, Stephanie, Alex and Eric made there way back to Peru in the summer of
2004 to minister in the area of Cusco, Peru. While ministering and praying for
many people in an open plaza under the Andean sky, Eric received the call to
full-time missions.

Spirit-Led led it's first outreach trip to Peru during
the summer of 2005, and has been training and
leading outreach trips ever since.
Outreach trips began in evangelism and drama
outreach, but they have now widened to include
even more practical outreach. "We must be
practically meeting needs," Lovin expresses. He
continues, "We can't just tell people about Jesus,
we have to show them Jesus."
Spirit-Led has now increased efforts to make sure
that they are practically meeting everyday needs of

those that they come in contact with. Typical outreaches now include distribution of blankets and food,
glasses, medical care, and the list will continue as the ministry grows.
Spirit-Led continues to train and send out two ministry teams a year to Peru; however, the long-term vision is
full-time missions. These full-time mission teams will work in the area of community development in 3rd
world communities alongside the local church. While meeting needs from water & sanitation to teaching
community health Spirit-Led will continue to practically share the love of Christ around the world...
